Paige in the playroom painting with her med buddy Melissa. "Med Buddies" are medical students who volunteer to be paired up with a child while they're in the hospital. All they do is play and have fun. Mel chose Paige when she went in for transplant in February and stayed in touch with us all along. If Paige had an appointment or was having tests done she would always meet us and spend time with Paige. It didn't matter if we were in pre-op at 6am, you could always count on Mel to be there and brighten Paige's day. Mel continued to visit us at home during hospice and had been to visit us on June 28th. It was such a nice visit that day and Paige even perked up enough to say toodle-doo to her when she was leaving. |
