| 9/12/03 Friday Paige is doing well and is having minimal side affects from the chemotherapy. She's a bit more irritable today and has had a few episodes of nausea, but she seems to respond well to the anti-nausea medication. She had blood work drawn today that showed a low hemoglobin and platelet count. Since the chemo clinic is closed on the weekend, she will be admitted in the morning to the pediatric floor for a blood and platelet transfusion. We went to Children's Hospital on Wednesday for our consultation regarding the stem cell transplant. We're not certain when the procedure will take place, but the primary adrenal tumor will have to be removed prior to transplant. We're figuring at least six to eight weeks before the surgery can be done. After much discussion we've decided to seek a second opinion at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. We look forward to our appointment on September 22nd with Dr. Greg Yanik, their neuroblastoma specialist. Have a Great Weekend! |
