| December 20, 2003 Saturday This past week went rather smooth considering how busy we were. We traveled to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The MIBG scan was completed and showed that her disease is stable. There are no new areas of disease noted and the areas that "lit up" on her previous scan were less conspicuous. On Thursday, we arrived back home mid afternoon and then headed to Hurley for 5 days of inpatient chemotherapy. We decorated her room with twinkling lights and many Christmas decorations. Since the first day is usually the hardest for her it was a nice surprise to get a visit from Santa (again)! Overall she is tolerating the treatment well. She got a little "sicky" this morning when her breakfast came. They gave her some IV anti-nausea medication that did the trick. Jack and Mina arrive early in the morning to let me go home for a few hours. Andy has been working the last few days, but tries to visit as often as possible throughout the day. Grandma has been fighting off a cold and has been unable to visit since the admission. We want to thank the Hurley emergency room staff for their generous donation. It will be put toward our travel expenses when Paige has her surgery and stem cell transplant in Ann Arbor. Please know how touched and apprechiative we are. Have a good weekend and thanks for checking on Paige. Sincerely, Andy, Sandi & Paige |
