| October 16, 2003 Thursday This is a quick update to let everyone know that Paige is a day behind in her scans. We won't know any results until at least Friday. When we arrived in Ann Arbor on Tuesday for the injection of the dye, we were disappointed (to say the least) to find out the dye had not arrived from Canada due to the Canadian holiday. So, she received the injection Wednesday and had the first day of the MIBG scan and also a CT of her chest, abdomen and pelvis today. She tolerated the test well, only a bit sleepy due to the general anesthesia they used. We return tomorrow morning for the second day of MIBG scanning. We're not sure when we will get the results, but we will certainly push for some information tomorrow. As it stands, she will be admitted Saturday to Hurley to start her 5th round of chemotherapy. If the MIBG and CT show she's responding to the chemo, then we stay the course. But, if the scans show little improvement or worsening of the disease they will change to a more aggressive protocol. Please say a prayer tonight that Paige is responding. We'll update everyone as soon as we find out the results. Thanks, Andy, Sandi & Paige |
