January 19, 2004  Monday
Since Paige was discharged from the hospital last Tuesday she hasn't acted like herself.  While she's been in a pretty good mood, she complains of nausea often and her appetite has been poor.  She was excited to spend the night with Grandma Saturday, but woke up early Sunday complaining of an ear ache.  By last evening she had spiked a temp 103.6 and was acting a bit lethargic.  After talking with Dr. Inoue around midnight he decided to admit her for IV antibiotics.  We were finally settled and able to get some rest at around 4 a.m.  Not suprisingly, her labwork indicated her immune system is very comprimised due to the chemotherapy (WBC 0.5, Hbg 8.4, Platelets 50 and an ANC of 275).   The follow-up MIBG and CT scans are scheduled for February 3-5 assuming this episode has resolved.  Like always, we'll take this one day at a time and do whatever we need to get her well.  We'll update soon.

Love,
Andy, Sandi & Paige
