| August 23, 2004 Monday Just a little note to say Hi to everyone. I feel as though we have little to say these days and that the updates are a bit boring. But, we've decided to continue to update now and then since so many of our family and friends requested we continue. For the last year this website has been very therapeutic for me and to tell you the truth I really miss doing the daily updates :) We returned home last Thursday after a week and an half stay in Ohio with Jay and Christina (Andy's brother and his wife). Nana and Pop-pop were kind enough to keep J&C's three little one's for the week so the four of us could spend some time together. What a wonderful time we had. To tell you the truth, we really didn't do much of anything except hang around the house and that was the best part. The guys (a.k.a The Grill Masters) always had a wonderful dinner planned... it was so nice to just relax. Well, of course Christina and I went out for our daily dose of retail therapy. On the 13th we surprised the guys with tickets to the Cleveland Indians-Minnesota Twins game. We left mid afternoon and ate an early dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe in Cleveland. We walked around the area until time for the game, and what an exciting game it was. Wow, to surprise them with baseball tickets...do they have awesome wives or what :) Since Christina was heading back to Pennsylvania (Greensburg) Sunday to pick up the kids, Andy and I decided to take the 2 1/2 hours trip with her so we could visit Andy's family for a few days. We returned to Ohio on Tuesday and then back home to Michigan on Wednesday. We look forward to the ReMax/CMN fundraiser this weekend to benefit Paige's Playroom. Andy's family will be arriving Friday. With our family, friends and many other supporters whom we've never met, we know that Saturday will be a great success. We will have details and pictures of the event soon after. Many ask how we are doing. Well, as best we can. We continue to take one day at a time. When I look back on the days following Paige's death it seems as though they were easy compared to now. While there are times when it just doesn't seem real, there are those little things that side blind you. Something as little as receiving a Disney catalog with all the upcoming Halloween costumes or seeing a child Paige's age quickly reminds us of the reality that we will face for the rest of our lives. We have no choice but to keep our faith and know that everything will be OK. We can't tell you how much we appreciate all the love and support we continue to receive. Paige's website still receives on average 200 hits per day. Most who visit are those of you who've followed the site for a long time. But, unfortunately some are parents whose child has been recently diagnosed with neuroblastoma and they, like us when Paige was diagnosed, are desperately searching and searching for answers... or just something positive. We can only hope that even though they see that Paige sadly lost her battle to this horrible disease, they must always keep their hope and faith...it's the only thing that will get them to the next day. Again, we can't say enough how grateful we are for the friends and family we have. We will update soon. Much Love, Andy & Sandi |
