| Tuesday June 29, 2004 Within just a few hours of receiving the radiation on Monday the swelling went down considerably and by Tuesday the eye swelling was almost completely gone. She still has quite a bit of swelling in the neck, which is probably due to the enlarged lymph nodes. They did radiate the left jaw and she's able to chew a little easier. But, today she just seems a little different. She has generalized swelling, but mostly in legs and her abdomen appears a bit distended. By this afternoon we noticed that her heart rate and respiratory rate had increased significantly. We plan to take in blood for labwork tomorrow and we'll see if they advise for or against a blood transfusion. In some situations extra fluid could be detrimental. Overall though she seems very comfortable with her morphine infusing at 33mg and hour plus boluses and we do have oxygen here if she needs it for comfort. We will update tomorrow and we thank all of you for caring so much for Paige and our family. Much Love, Andy, Sandi & Paige |
