| May 9, 2004 Sunday Day +65 of Transplant Just a quick note that Paige was admitted this evening to U of M. Over the last 24 hours she had become more irritable and we were having a hard time controlling her pain. We were hoping to make it until Monday to see Dr. Yanik in clinic, but by mid-afternoon she was so miserable and her temperature spiked to 102.5. After talking to the oncologist on call they wanted her brought to the ER for admittion. After a few hours in ER we were finally in our room by 9 pm this evening. They started her on IV antibiotics and morphine and we're awaiting blood cultures to see if and what bacteria is present. Since we have noticed a few new areas of swelling we're very concerned about what Dr. Yanik's decision about MIBG therapy will be. We've also noticed a few new areas of swelling. There is a very large lymph node in her groin and some swelling around her right ear that extends downs into her neck. We actually didn't notice the neck swelling until we were in the ER. We just looked at each other and shook our heads. What can we say... we're just heartbroken and continue to hope and pray. We will update tomorrow. Love, Andy, Sandi & Paige |
