                                          Day +61 of Transplant

Again, I apologize that the website hasn't been updated in a few days.  I hesitate to update when there's nothing new because I feel like I'm repeating myself.  But, after a friend called today to make sure everything was OK I figured I'd better get an update on the site.  She said laughing, "I don't care what you say, you just need to update everyday."  So here goes :)
The last few days have went pretty well.  While Paige continues to complain of pain in her right leg, we're trying several medications to find the right combination that works for her.  Whether it's our eyes playing tricks or not, the tumor on her forehead does appear a bit smaller.  We went to chemo clinic at Hurley yesterday for bloodwork and to see Dr. Inoue who thought she looked pretty good.  It was so nice to see everyone.  We will return on Friday for more bloodwork.
Dr. Yanik called yesterday to check on Paige.  Since we haven't notice any new signs of the disease getting worse we will wait and return to Ann Arbor next week for the pre-MIBG testing.  On Tuesday she's scheduled for a renal scan (GFR) and echocardiogram, to check her kidney and heart function. Then, on Wednesday we will meet with Dr. Yanik in clinic following the multiple CTs she's scheduled to have done.
To have a few days at home where we can actually feel like a normal family again is priceless.  We did absolutely nothing this weekend and loved every minute of it.  Andy returned to work on Monday and plans to work up until the MIBG admittion on May 18th.  After Paige's appointment yesterday Aunt Carla picked her up and took her to Grandma's house for the day so Mommy could have a few hours to myself.  I went to lunch with and friend and ran a few errands.  You forget how much you can actually get done when you're by yourself :)  It was late by the time I went to pick her up, so we decided to just stay the night at Grandma's house.  Since she's still within her 100 days of post-transplant restrictions that prohibits her from being around groups of kids, it's a nice change for her to be able to play with Ashley.  We might even stay again tonight :)

Will update soon :)

Love,
Andy, Sandi and Paige
