| May 27, 2004 Thursday The last few days have been pretty good OK. Since she has required a small increase in pain medication it's difficult to know how much relief the radiation to her legs on the 25th has provided her. Periods of irritability continue, but she also has times of contentment. Yesterday was a good eating day, but today was not. She does have some ptosis, (drooping), of her right eyelid but her vision seems to be ok. It's just so heartbreaking to see her smile and laugh less. The weather today was beautiful. She wanted to go to "Jackie and Julia's" this morning for yogurt. They live a five-minute walk from here - it was so nice to visit with her two little friends. We took our daily trip out to the store for more "white ice cream" and we also stopped for ice cream cones on the way home. We actually heard a few chuckles from Paige as she helped hold Levi's dish of ice cream as he licked it clean. Yesterday some cousins were here for a visit and she really enjoyed that. We had a stepping stone kit for her to put her hand and foot prints in, but the cement would not set up. God had that planned so she could spend the next hour completely involved in doing her prints then smoothing them out and re-doing. Then came the designs with a popsicle stick and re-arranging the colored stones many times. Of course the next move was to the bathtub. Since the amount of time Paige sleeps during the day is slowly increasing she seems to have only a few feel good hours a day. How we cherish every minute. If there are no significant changes over the weekend we will probably wait until Monday or Tuesday to update again. Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend and thanks for taking the time to check Paige's website. Much Love, Andy, Sandi and Paige |
