| May 13, 2004 Thursday Day +69 of Transplant The last 24 hours have gone OK. Paige went early this morning for a renal scan and then rested well for the rest of the afternoon. This was a pre-MIBG test, so we don't foresee any problems. Since Mommy and Daddy are fighting colds Grandma stayed with Paige today so we could get a few hours of sleep. Nana and PopPop have been taking care of things at the house and arrived later this afternoon. Here is the tentative plan. She is scheduled for the multiple CTs tomorrow morning at 8am. Depending on the CT results and if her pain remains under control we may go home for the weekend on the morphine drip. We will meet with Dr. Yanik in clinic Monday and if everything remains stable she will be admitted Tuesday and the MIBG therapy will start on Wednesday. It would be great to get home for a few days, but the IV morphine will be a must since her pain has increased significantly, especially in her left leg where the radiation was given in late February. As of yesterday she refused to walk on it. We feel so helpless to see her like this and we're keeping our fingers crossed that we'll make it home for weekend and then to therapy next week without hitting another road block. This is the only option left that could give her quality pain relief. We will update sometime tomorrow. As always, we thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued love, prayers and support. Love, Andy, Sandi & Paige |
