| April 26, 2004 Monday Day +52 of Transplant Day 10 Post-op By the time we arrived to U of M this morning Paige was absolutely miserable and inconsolable. While her temp had been hanging around 99' throughout the night it was 101' on arrival to chemo clinic. Within a few minutes Dr. Yanik stopped to see her. With the increased forehead swelling (tumor progression), temperature, and irritability he immedicately decided to admit her for pain control and in-patient chemo. She received her first of three days of IV chemotherapy (topotecan and cytoxin) in the clinic and she was admitted by 4pm. We're also waiting for radiation-oncology to see her regarding possible radiation to the head (frontal area) and right lower leg. The goal is to control the pain and progression so they can get her into MIBG therapy, which is scheduled for May 19th. She is finally sleeping comfortably after IV Morphine :)!! We hope and pray the localized radiation will alleviate her pain and the chemotherapy will keep her metastatic lesions under control. We thank all of you for your continued prayers and support. Love, Andy, Sandi & Paige |
