| April 22, 2004 Thursday Day +48 of Transplant Day 6 post-op Yesterday was a pretty boring day around here, just the way we like it. She spent a few hours in the playroom with minimal complaints of pain. They discontinued the IV pain meds and started her on oral. This gets us one step closer to going home. I think from a surgical point she's ready, it's this infection that's holding up the discharge at this point. She had been close to 24 hours without a temperature, which is required for discharge. Then she spiked to 101 early this morning and does seem a bit more irritable. They said in rounds this morning that she'll probably be able to go tomorrow withIV antibiotics for approximately 2 weeks. We're also anxiously awaiting the pathology results from the primary tumor, lymph nodes and wedge section of the liver taken during surgery. Paige's doctors had a meeting with the pathology department yesterday, so they were hoping to hear something. We will update soon.
