                                                       Day  1

What a difference a day can make.  The day started with Paige pretty comfortable, but, by noon the symptoms we were told to expect seemed to hit her all at once... fatigue, diarrhea, mouth sores, nausea and vomiting.  They're giving her benadryl/phenergen and Ativan for the nausea and vomiting, and morphine mouth sore pain.  So, you can image by tonight she was very exhausted.  We knew these symptoms would occur sooner or later, we just didn't expect them to hit, full force, all at once.  Since the mouth sores are preventing her from eating, she was started on TPN and lipids (nutrition via her IV) this evening.  There's a chance she may need this nutrition even after discharge.  After finding the right combination of medications, she's finally resting comfortably.
We know that we have rough days ahead and we'll continue to take this one day at a time.  Please know that your continued prayers and support mean the world to us.

Love,
Andy, Sandi & Paige
