                                              Day +23 of Transplant

The clinic appointment Thursday went pretty good, besides the temper tantrum.  She was seen by a different Nurse Practitioner and Physician, so that's usually very stressful for her.  Her labwork was acceptable, but with the decreasing trend in her hemoglobin there's a possibility of a blood transfusion at her Monday appointment.  On Monday they plan to start her on oral Accutane.  Studies have shown that high doses of Accutane (13-cis-retinoic acid), a common Vitamin A derivative that is used in treating acne, can stop the growth of some neuroblastomas.  I told Dr. Yanik that we'd take five gallon please :)

Please say extra prayers for Paige this week as her follow-up scans are scheduled for Thursday.  Thanks for taking the time to check Paige's site.  We'll update again Monday evening when we return from Ann Arbor.

Love,
Andy, Sandi & Paige
