March 1, 2004  Monday

Paige continues to have good days.  She seems to be feeling better now than she did a week ago.  She rarely complains of pain in her left lower leg and it's easily relieved with Tylenol.  She hasn't required morphine for the last five days.  The nausea has been minimal and quickly eleviated with medication.  She finished her fourth and final day of chemotherapy this morning.  She will have three days of rest and the stem cell infusion on Thursday.   We realize this is the calm before the storm, so we're enjoying the boring days.
On Friday we enjoyed a visit with some of our good friends from Hurley.  Denise, Deb, Stephanie and Gloria brought us lots of goodies and adorable gifts for Paige from our co-workers.  We were speechless and again grateful for the generousity of everyone who contributed to the card, and also to the Surgical PA's and the Trauma Surgeons for the generousity.
Andy's brother and wife (Jay and Christina) came up from Ohio to visit for the weekend.  We so enjoy spending time with them.  On Sunday we enjoyed a brunch courtesy of Uncle Ron, Aunt Chris and their kids.  Since Paige's numbers were not yet affected by the chemo she was able to leave her room and visit with everyone in the main family room.  The food was so yummy!
While we truely miss our wonderful doctors and nurses from Hurley, we have found great comfort from the staff here.  It's such a relief from a parents standpoint to have nurses who care so much about Paige.

Love,
Andy, Sandi & Paige
